Air Force Common Admission Test(AFCAT) is an examination conducted twice every year. This examination is conducted by Indian Air Force. It is conducted all across India.

application are invited from male Indian citizen as per citizenship act 1955 for the following courses commencing in January 2015 for grant of short commission in flying branch and Permanent/Short service commission in technical and ground duty branches. candidates are to apply only online for AFCAT 01/2014 on IAF career website www.careerairforce.nic.in from 14/12/2013 to 12/1/ 2014. last date for submission of online application is 12/1/2014.

===>AFCAT 2014 Eligibility Criteria

  • Flying Branch – The applicant should be minimum of 19 years of age and maximum of 23 years. The candidate must have the B.E / B.Tech degree or a Graduate in any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks. You should be 162.5 cms in height and should have correlated weight
  • Technical Branch – For this, he should be of 18-28 years of age and should have done Aeronautical Engineering with minimum 60% marks. Your height should be a minimum 157.5 cms to apply for this examination.
  • Ground Duty Branches – You should be either PG or Bachelor degree or CA or LLB holder with at least 60% aggregate marks from any recognized Indian university. The age limit are same for male and female

===>AFCAT Examination Syllabus:

  • General Awareness syllabus includes subjects like Current Affairs, Defence, History, Geography, Civics, Sports, Basic Science, Environment, Politics, Art, and Culture.
  • Verbal ability in English will examine knowledge of English with respect to Comprehension, Synonyms, Antonyms, Error Detection, Vocabulary Evaluation, and Sentence Completion.
  • Numerical Ability paper will cover Decimal, Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Ratio, and Proportion.
  • Reasoning and Military Aptitude tests verbal skills along with spatial ability.

===>Exam pattern:

  • The pattern of examination of AFCAT consists of 100 multiple choice questions from the fields comprised of: General Awareness, Verbal ability, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, Aptitude test
  • The time duration of the examination is 2 hours
  • For every correct attempt, 3 marks will be awarded and for every incorrect attempt 1 mark will be deducted, from the total marks scored.

  • Candidates have to apply online for AFCAT through official website www.careerairforce.nic.in of Indian Air Force. They must have a valid email id to apply for the batches of training.
  • if you meet the eligibility criteria, please click on CANDIDATE LOGIN  . in the career website of IAF www.careerairforce.nic.in and follow the instruction. you are advised to note down the registration number for future correspondence. candidates are advised to read the notification for AFCAT 01/2014 and the detailed guidelines for filling up online application as given in the website www.careerairforce.nic.in prior to commencement of filling up online application,
  • while filling online application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available as details are to be filled as per matriculation &other educational certificates
  • please save your recent colour passport size photograph (size 10 kb to 250 kb) in the computer for attaching to your online application form
  • fill the application form with care. in case of any information is found to be incorrect then the candidate is likely to be cancelled at any stage of selection process
